End of semester Jazz Ensemble concert
The Fairmont State University department of music is excited to announce a springtime Jazz Ensemble concert. The concert will be performed in the Wallman Hall Theatre on the campus of Fairmont State on Thursday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m.
Under the direction of, Neil L. King, the Fairmont State Jazz Ensemble concert will present its spring concert. “We are all excited to have Neil King directing the Fairmont State Jazz Ensemble. He brings a wealth of performance experience and expertise to our jazz and improvisation students. Neil has an extensive history with jazz programs in West Virginia and is often sought after to adjudicate and serve as a clinician with groups around the region,” said Professor Robert Hickey Jr., Director of Bands. Recently the Jazz Ensemble was recognized and awarded the 2018 Friend of Marion County Family Resource Network Award for their continued support for performing at the annual Heroes Award Ceremony. The Jazz Ensemble has worked diligently preparing for this concert and selections will include traditional big band standards and contemporary arrangements for jazz ensemble.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Wallman Hall Theatre at Fairmont State. Admission is free and the concert is open to the public.
