Dudek Earns NCAA Swimming Bid
Fairmont State senior Marlena Dudekhas qualified for the 2018 NCAA Division II Women's Swimming Championships, as announced
by the association on Thursday afternoon. The 2018 swimming championships are slated
for March 14-17 in Greensboro, N.C.
Dudek has qualified to compete in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events for the second-straight
year following her B-cut times at the 2018 Great Midwest/Mountain East Conference
Swimming Championships in February. Dudek recorded B-cut times of 1:02.75 in the 100
breaststroke, and 2:16.91 in the 200 breaststroke.
Dudek returns to the NCAA Swimming Championships for the second-consecutive year,
as the Chrzanow, Poland native earned honorable mention All-America honors in the
200 breaststroke with a time of 2:15.65 during last season's swimming championships
in Birmingham, Ala.
Official dates and times of Dudek's events will be announced in the near future by
the NCAA Swimming & Diving Committee.
