FAIRMONT STATE CAREER FAIR PLANNED FOR FEB. 13 IN FALCON CENTER

Feb 01, 2018

Fairmont State University will host its 2018 Career Fair on Tuesday, February 13th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM in the Falcon Center on the Fairmont campus.  The career fair is free to attend and open to students, alumni, and the greater Fairmont community.

Dr. Mirta Martin, Fairmont State’s 15th president, is excited to promote local employment to Fairmont State students, alumni and the community.

“Fairmont State University is positioning itself to become the provider of choice for an educated workforce for West Virginia and beyond,” said Martin. “Our role is to engage the community in life-long learning opportunities and to prepare students to serve as leaders in today’s global marketplace. As a University, we are committed to ensuring our students have the appropriate skillset for the careers of today and for those that do not yet exist. “

About 60 employers are registered for the event to recruit for employment and internship opportunities. Last year’s career fair featured more than 200 job seekers. Those planning to attend this year’s event are encouraged to dress professionally, research the participating companies, be prepared to network, and excited to explore the various career opportunities available in North Central West Virginia.

The fair will consist of an open forum allowing participants the opportunity to gather career and employment related information, as well as the opportunity to submit their resume for interview consideration.
