Free Math Tutoring Program for Kids Begins in September

Fairmont State University Counts, a free math tutoring program offered by FSU is planning for its fall session. The tutoring program is available to students in third through eighth grades who are experiencing math difficulties.

The program is supervised by Pam Kabulski, a Marion County math teacher and the on-site supervisor, and coordinated by Amy Drvar, Acting Director of Career Development at FSU. The one hour/once a week sessions, which run for eight weeks, are offered Wednesdays at 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. or Thursdays at 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. The program starts Sept. 24/25 and runs through Nov. 12/13. Sessions meet on the FSU campus.

Fairmont State tutors, who are proficient in math, aid children in developing their math skills. Kabulski will be present to assist each tutor and student.

Those who register students should submit the following information: student’s name; student’s grade; day and time desired; parent/guardian name; phone number; additional information (allergies, health concerns).
