Activities to Mark the Observance of Veterans Day 2012

Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College will observe Veterans Day 2012 with three events sponsored by Student Government and the Student Veterans Organization.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, a Veterans Resource Fair will take place in the Main Street area, located on the second floor of the Falcon Center. Organizations that provide services to veterans will be on hand to provide information to FSU and Pierpont students.

A Veterans Day Celebration is planned for noon Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Falcon Center third floor conference rooms. The event will include a welcome, presentation of colors and singing of the National Anthem.

Following the ceremony, a Women Veterans Panel Discussion will take place in the Falcon Center third floor conference rooms. The discussion will be moderated by Master Sergeant Tracey Corbin, U.S. Army, who is also Associate Professor of Emergency Medical Services for Pierpont. Light refreshments will be served.
