Nursing Programs of FSU and Woosong University Enter Partnership
Fairmont State University formalized its relationship with Woosong University in Daejeon, South Korea, today, Dec. 2, through the signing of a memorandum of understanding.
Dr. Sharon Boni, Dean of the School of Nursing and Allied Health Administration, left; Dr. Maria Rose, FSU Interim President, center; and Dr. Anna Hyun-Joo Lee, Head of the Nursing Program at Woosong University, right, signed the agreement. The signing of the memorandum of understanding officially formalized the growing relationship between the two universities.
“Fairmont State University is extremely happy to enter into this partnership with Woosong University and promises to share resources between the two universities and to share faculty and students. We look forward to a longstanding partnership,” Rose said.
Officials from FSU, including Boni, visited Woosong in May 2011. Dr. Anna Lee and interpreter Rachel Inhwan Lee visited FSU’s main campus this week, sitting in on nursing classes and touring local health care facilities. Woosong has indicated an interest in sending students to FSU to study, which would contribute to FSU’s growing population of international students. The partnership between FSU and Woosong also could create additional opportunities for FSU students and faculty to study and travel abroad.
