Dec. 8 Concert an Evening of Songs, Sweets and Service
The FSU Collegiate Singers and Chamber Choir will offer a concert of holiday choral music at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at Colebank Hall. A free dessert reception will precede that concert at 7:30 p.m.
Under the direction of Dr. Sam Spears, the concert called “Yuletide Carols” will feature the “Sussex Carol” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, “The Shepherds’ Farewell” by Hector Berlioz, the medley “Three Carols for Christmas,” “Never a Brighter Star” by Dan Forrest, “Shiloh” by William Billings, “Allon” by Guilaume Costeley and favorites such as “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire,” “Silver Bells” and “Silent Night.”
The public is also invited to drop off new sweatshirts, toboggans, gloves and socks or new toys that will be donated to the Soup Opera as part of a service project spearheaded by the FSU deans.
