Fairmont State University is hosting another round of its 2011 Community Engagement Initiative on Thursday, Oct. 6, as the Falcon football team plays host to Bowie State at 7 p.m. at Duvall-Rosier Field. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Several businesses and campus organizations are planning games, give-a-ways, and promotions prior to the start of the game. Country Club Bakery, Pufferbelly’s, Aspire Uniqueness, New Mystics Arts, Fairmont State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), FSU Residence Life, Delta Zeta and Power of Diversity Club. The Fairmont State Alumni Association is sponsoring a photo booth inside Duvall-Rosier Field that will snap photos and provide prints for fans for free.

“We have been extremely pleased with the response to our efforts to help unite the community and the university, and are excited for another fantastic Thursday night,” said Adam Zundell, director of athletic media relations and marketing at Fairmont State. “There are lots of activities for fans of all ages prior to the game that we think enhances the fan experience and the atmosphere at Fairmont State games. There’s a lot of excitement for our team with its 4-1 record so far, and we hope we can continue to our great attendance record on Thursday nights.”

Fans are also encouraged to wear maroon on Thursday night to help match the Falcons maroon-on-maroon pants/jersey combination for the night.
