Children Make Donation to Marion County Humane Society
The children of Monongah Elementary School recently presented members of the Marion County Humane Society with a check for $632.98 to support the “Every Dog Deserves a Bed” service project.
The students, who participated in the Fairmont State Reads afterschool program, collected pennies to raise money to buy beds for the dogs in the local shelter. Students in the afterschool program at East Park Elementary and Faith United Methodist Church which is the Fairmont State University site, also participated in the project. This afterschool program is part of the Fairmont State Reads program coordinated by Donna Yergovich Nuzum, Director of the Office of Community Service Learning.
