Collaborative Solutions Showcase on Jan. 11 Designed to Build Partnerships

Jan 11, 2011

Designed to foster collaboration between Fairmont State University and the local high technology industry, FSU is hosting an event on Tuesday, Jan. 11, called the Collaborative Solutions Showcase: Developing Partnerships with Fairmont State University.

FSU is interested in strengthening community and regional business relationships, especially in fostering collaboration with the local high technology industry.

“An institution like Fairmont State University has a responsibility to be a resource for key initiatives in its region and state,” said FSU President Tom Krepel. “We need to make people aware that the university is available to bring forward resources and capabilities to help resolve challenging issues faced by our community, North Central West Virginia and our state.”

The event will familiarize participants with campus facilities; demonstrate available credit and non-credit programmatic support; and highlight opportunities for internships, career fairs and on-campus recruiting. The event will allow business leaders to interact with FSU faculty members and tour academic areas of interest.

About 100 participants registered to attend the Showcase, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Falcon Center third floor Conference Rooms.

Highlights of today’s event include the following:

  • A welcome from FSU President Tom Krepel will begin at 10 a.m. in the Falcon Center third floor Conference Rooms.
  • The six FSU deans will present a showcase of opportunities for collaboration in their areas from about 10:15 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Networking and facility tours are planned from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
  • Lunch will be served at noon in the Falcon Center third floor Conference Rooms with remarks from FSU President Tom Krepel.
