Competitive Cheer Team Members Named Homecoming Parade Marshals

The traditional Homecoming Parade for Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College presented by Student Government will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, in downtown Fairmont.

Student Government has selected FSU's Competitive Cheer Team members, as parade marshals.

Coached by Kristi Kiefer and Natalie Bigelow, the team won its sixth national NCA title in April 2010 in competition at Daytona Beach, Fla.

Team members are Kristen Chafin of Logan; Candace Bonecutter of Point Pleasant; Nathalie Barnes of Capital Heights, Md.; Brittany Jackson of New Martinsville; Erica Altamare of Pittsburgh; Tamber Johnson of Martinsburg; Meggan Midkiff of Dawson; Whitney Whiten of Frederick, Md.; Eden DiBiase of Follansbee; Emily Sommer of Southside; Samantha Riffle of Fairmont; Courtney Sayre of Evans; Amanda Morgan of Lewisburg; Jade Bennett of Follansbee; Krysta Kemp of Logan; Paige Peters of Clarksburg; Kilee Jackson of Ripley; Chelsea Harman of Keyser; Kayla Meehan of Charles Town; Emily Wentz of Clarksburg; Miranda Echard of Parkersburg; Sammy Jo Myers of Clarksburg; Kylie Kiefer of Bridgeport; Courtney Reymond of Clarksburg; Mariah Calef of Clarksburg; Natasha Elswick of Winfield; Julia Falkenklous of Baltimore; and Aeriall Daniel of Baltimore.

Line-up for the parade will begin at 5:15 p.m. at Everest Drive below the Marion County Rescue Squad. The parade route will run up Fourth Street right onto Fairmont Avenue, which becomes Adams Street, and will pause in front of the Marion County Courthouse. The parade will end near Veterans' Square.

Main Street Fairmont will hand out free pom poms to those gathered to watch the parade.

Any marching group, organization, political candidate, community group or business interested in having a float or car in the parade should fill out a parade entry form online at www.fairmontstate.edu/homecoming or call the Office of Student Affairs at (304) 367-4643 by 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18.
