Kestrel: A Journal of Literature and Art and the Department of Language & Literature at Fairmont State University will host 11 writers for readings on Friday, Sept. 10, in Fairmont and Saturday, Sept. 11, in Morgantown.

The writers, all of whom have had work published in the current issue of Kestrel, will read at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, in the Tower Room in Wallman Hall on the FSU main campus and at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Zenclay Café, 2862 University Ave., Morgantown. A reception and refreshments are planned for the Friday, Sept. 10, event in Fairmont, and photographs by David R. Cerbone will also be on exhibit during that event. Admission to both events is free and open to the public.

Friday's readers include poets Marion Brown of Yonkers, N.Y.; Rob Merritt of Bluefield, Va.; Lauren McKenzie Reed of Morgantown; fiction writer John Van Kirk of Huntington; and essayist Michael W. Cox of Jonestown, Pa. Saturday's reading features poets Anne Brannen of Pittsburgh; Michael Boccardo of Greensboro, N.C.; Susan Sailor of Fairmont; Ellen McGrath Smith of Pittsburgh; and Nancy Takacs of Salt Lake City, Utah.

"We are delighted, and lucky, to have published writers of such quality in this issue of Kestrel. I know they will delight us further with their readings," said Dr. Donna J. Long, Kestrel editor-in-chief.
