Community Music Program Accepting Fall Registration

Aug 10, 2010

Through Sept. 30, Fairmont State University's Community Music Program for Children and Adults will be accepting fall 2010 registration for private lessons in piano, voice, guitar, woodwinds, brass, percussion, improvisation, music theory and composition.

All lessons are available for beginner to advanced students ages 6 to adult with teachers who have a master's degree or the equivalent in their teaching field and have considerable teaching experience. Lessons are held at the Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College shared main campus in Fairmont and at the Gaston Caperton Center, 501 West Main St., Clarksburg, at times arranged with the teacher and student.

Any style of music can be studied, including classical, sacred, Broadway, folk, pop and more. Lessons can help prepare students for competitions, college enrollment auditions, all state choir and orchestra and other opportunities. The program strives to enable students to discover, prepare, experience, explore, develop, enjoy and perform. Study is tailored to the specific interests of the student.

Call Anne Schooley, Director, at (304) 366-3758 for more information or e-mail her at anschooley@mteer.com. Year-round studies are available.
