Kniceley Resigns from FSU Board of Governors
Andy Kniceley today, Nov. 20, announced his resignation from the Fairmont State University Board of Governors, both his elected position as Chairman and his appointed position as a board member.
As a result of the resignation, Board of Governors Vice Chairman Rocco Muriale will immediately become Chairman.
"I have known Andy Kniceley for a number of years and have the highest regard for his devotion to the advancement of Fairmont State University. Serving with him on the FSU Board of Governors, I have seen firsthand how hard Andy has worked to balance his family, community and professional responsibilities. He should be recognized for the leadership he provided to the Board during a time of many transitions: the presidential search process, the change in administrations, and the separation of the university and Pierpont Community & Technical College. All of us associated with FSU should express our appreciation to Andy for his efforts to move the university forward," Muriale said.
"I have great respect for Andy Kniceley and the contributions he has made to Fairmont State University as Chairman of the Board of Governors since July 1, 2008. Although I have only known him a few months, I have been impressed with his commitment to the well-being of this institution. Andy should be commended for the work he has done with state policymakers on behalf of FSU to increase funding and to keep tuition costs as low as possible for our students. We thank him for his service," said Thomas L. Krepel, FSU President.
The next meeting of the Fairmont State University Board of Governors is scheduled for Dec. 17.
