Holiday Ball Planned for Dec. 4
Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College Student Government, along with the Ballroom Dance Club, are hosting a new event this holiday season.
A Holiday Ball is planned for 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, in the Turley Center Ballroom on the FSU and Pierpont shared main campus in Fairmont.
"Student Government and the Ballroom Dance Club are excited to host this holiday celebration. This is a great opportunity for students to dance away some of the stress before finals and get into the holiday mood," said Jane Ryan, Student Government Vice President.
"We will be featuring top 40/club music, similar to what is played at the Homecoming Dance, and will be mixing in some holiday tunes and a few Ballroom numbers. Community members are welcome to attend, as well as students, faculty and staff. We can't wait to see you all out on the dance floor."
Members of the Ballroom Dancing Club will be on hand to model some of the traditional Ballroom dances and to provide impromptu dance instruction to those interested. Typical Ballroom dance styles include the waltz, fox trot, cha cha and salsa.
Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free and is open to the public. No reservations are required. The dress code for the event is informal, and festive attire is encouraged.
