Free Reading Enrichment Program Offered
Fairmont State University's FSU Reads program is preparing for the fall reading enrichment program for elementary school students, grades kindergarten through fourth. Sessions will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 5, and continue each Tuesday through Nov. 17 from 4 to 5 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church on the corner of Fairmont Avenue and Fourth Street in Fairmont.
Fairmont State students supervised by Donna Yergovich Nuzum, director, and Erinn Rosier, graduate assistant, have just completed an intense workshop/training period, working diligently to make this a totally successful reading experience for elementary students.
During the enrichment sessions, the students will hear stories, play reading skills games and complete writing/art projects. This program is presented to enhance a child's love of reading. Although it is not a tutoring session, emphasis is placed on good reading practices.
