Shannon Kelley Hired as Director of Fairmont State Athletic Association
A former University of Texas quarterback with a background in building corporate relationships has been hired to play a key role in the future of Fairmont State University's athletic programs.
Shannon Kelley of Houston has been hired as Director of the Fairmont State Athletic Association (FSAA). Kelley will work with FSU's administration and staff to further the presence and image of FSU intercollegiate athletics.
"This position was strategically created to develop alternative means of financial support for our athletic programs. Institutions at all levels are finding it critical to identify and attract external funding to support these efforts," said Dr. Thomas L. Krepel, FSU President.
"I am enthusiastic about Shannon joining our community. He has had personal experience with participating in a large, well-regarded intercollegiate athletics program, and he has developed vital contacts within the world of college athletics, the athletic booster community and the business community. He is a good fit for this position."
"I am excited about the opportunity to come to Fairmont and be associated with Fairmont State University. I am honored to be part of Dr. Krepel's vision," Kelley said.
The FSAA raises annual funds to support FSU's student-athletes and NCAA Division II athletic programs. The fund-raising activities of the FSAA are part of the Fairmont State Foundation, Inc. Donors and sponsors of the FSAA raise funds to supplement the Athletic Department's scholarship funding. The FSAA's network of volunteers hosts a variety of events to engage the Falcon community and complement fund-raising efforts.
