FSU and Pierpont Predict Enrollment Increases
Enrollment at Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College appears to be up about 2 percent overall for the fall 2009 semester.
Comparing data collected on Aug. 23, 2009, to that collected on Aug. 23, 2008, both institutions are showing enrollment growth. More complete enrollment numbers will be available in mid-October, when official data are filed with the federal Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). Fall 2008 enrollment was about 4,600 for FSU and 2,600 for Pierpont.
"We will continue to register students for classes over the next few weeks because some classes start a little later than others on our different campus locations in our 13-county region," said Steve Leadman, Director of Admissions and Recruitment.
"Officials for both institutions have been pleased with the number of students expressing interest in Fairmont State and Pierpont and the number of students who have participated in orientation programs and Welcome Weekend."
