Community Music Program Accepting Fall Registration

Aug 13, 2009

Through Sept. 30, Fairmont State University's Community Music Program for Children and Adults will be accepting fall registration for private lessons in piano, voice, violin, viola, guitar, percussion and brass.

All lessons are available for beginner to advanced students ages 5 to adult with teachers who have a master's degree or the equivalent in their teaching field and have considerable teaching experience. Technique, music reading and music theory are main components of the program. Lessons are held in Wallman Hall on the FSU main campus on Mondays through Saturdays at times arranged with the teacher and student.

Recital and other performance opportunities, including the annual Music-O-Rama, are available but not required. All styles of music are taught for all instruments, including sacred, folk, pop, Broadway and more. Lessons can help prepare students for competitions, college enrollment auditions, all state choir and orchestra and other opportunities.

Call Anne Schooley, Director, at (304) 366-3758 for more information or e-mail her at anschooley@mteer.com. Â
