Morgantown Poet Presents Reading

With the support of Fairmont State University's Center for Teaching Excellence, "Kestrel: A Journal of Literature and Art" will present a reading by a Morgantown poet on May 1.

Lori Wilson's new book "House Where a Woman" has been published by Pgh's Autumn House Press. Wilson will read at 4 p.m. Friday, May 1, in the Brooks Gallery on the main FSU and Pierpont Community & Technical College campus. Copies of her book will be available for purchase and signing at the reading.

Born in Carrollton, Ky., Wilson was raised in western Pennsylvania and has lived in Morgantown for nearly 20 years. She received her B.A. degree from Brigham Young University and her M.A. in Economics from Harvard University. She currently works as a computer systems analyst. In 2001, she was awarded first place in West Virginia's Emerging Writers Poetry Competition. Her poems have appeared in various literary publications, including "5am," "The Comstock Review," "Paper Street Press," "Poet Lore," "Southern Poetry Review" and the anthology "Along these Rivers." "House Where a Woman" is her first book, which has been published by Pittsburgh's Autumn House Press.
