Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College will host Family Weekend on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12 and 13, featuring a cookout, special fun activities for families, a brunch and a post-game reception.
Sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs, Student Government and the Fairmont State Alumni Association, the weekend is designed to help the families of students feel welcome on campus and learn more about Fairmont State and Pierpont.
"The faculty and staff are here to help students achieve their goals and, in some cases, help them determine what their goals should be," said Michael Belmear, Vice President for Student Affairs. "We want the families of our students to feel at home on our campus, and we encourage them to visit often."
A Student Government cookout, music and inflatable games begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, on the Falcon Center lawn. Events for Saturday, Sept. 13, begin at 10:30 a.m. with the Provost's Brunch.
