Jun 18, 2008

Allegheny Power is updating equipment in its substation and replacing one of the two transformers that supplies power to the Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College main campus in Fairmont.

As a result, FSU and Pierpont's main campus on Locust Avenue will be closed on Saturday, June 21.

Faculty and staff on main campus leave are asked to turn off their computers and printers when they leave campus today, June 20. The Physical Plant also recommends turning off any other electronic devices such as fans or air conditioners.

All campus computing services will shut down at midnight tonight, June 20, and will not be back up until midnight Saturday, June 21.

Weekend College classes that regularly meet on Saturdays in the Education Building on the main campus will meet in Bryant Place. ENGL 1109 and MATH 93 will meet in Bryant Place, Room 604. Speech will meet in Bryant Place, Room 608.

"We anticipate that the Falcon Center will reopen for its regular hours beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 22, and that our offices will observe their normal hours on Monday, June 23," said Amy Pellegrin, Director of Public Relations.
