ACT Test Prep Course Offered
The Community Education program of Pierpont Community & Technical College of Fairmont
State University will offer an ACT Test Preparation course for high school juniors
and seniors Tuesday, Oct. 30, through Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Center for Workforce
Education, 320 Adams St., Veterans' Square, in downtown Fairmont.
The course, designed to help students prepare for the college entrance exam, will
be offered over a course of 12 evenings, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5-8 p.m. The
course covers the reading, English, science, math and writing skills needed to succeed
on the test. An emphasis will also be placed on test-taking skills. The course is
recommended particularly for students who are trying to achieve the PROMISE Scholarship
and those applying for competitive college programs.
The $295 cost of the course includes all books and materials. Students will take a
practice exam during the first class session. Students are asked to bring a No. 2
pencil and a calculator that evening. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is
required.
