The Community Education program of Pierpont Community & Technical College of Fairmont State University will offer an ACT Test Preparation course for high school juniors and seniors Tuesday, Oct. 30, through Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Center for Workforce Education, 320 Adams St., Veterans' Square, in downtown Fairmont.

The course, designed to help students prepare for the college entrance exam, will be offered over a course of 12 evenings, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5-8 p.m. The course covers the reading, English, science, math and writing skills needed to succeed on the test. An emphasis will also be placed on test-taking skills. The course is recommended particularly for students who are trying to achieve the PROMISE Scholarship and those applying for competitive college programs.

The $295 cost of the course includes all books and materials. Students will take a practice exam during the first class session. Students are asked to bring a No. 2 pencil and a calculator that evening. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required.
