FieldTurf Celebration Planned for Sept. 8
Saturday, Sept. 8, marks an historic event for the Fairmont State University Fighting
Falcons "the first football game to be played on Duvall-Rosier Field's new FieldTurfTM
playing surface.
To commemorate the home opener, a Ribbon Cutting Celebration has been planned. Before
the 3:30 p.m. start of the game, free T-shirts sponsored by Freckles Graphics and
Greenhorne & O'Mara Consulting Engineers, and posters will be handed out to the crowd.
The ceremony will help welcome the team to the field. Legendary head coach Deacon
Duvall will give the ceremonial coin toss.
Following the game, all fans will be invited down to the field. Players and coaches
will participate in an autograph session sponsored by Adams Office Supply.
The $1.6 million renovation to the field began in the spring of 2007. The field is
lined to accommodate Intramurals and several sports, including football, softball,
soccer and women's lacrosse.
