Brassiere Bazaar Raises Funds

Sep 10, 2007

Fairmont State will host a special two-day preview show of the Brassiere Bazaar on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 13 and 14, in the Wallman Hall Tower Room.

A reception is planned for Thursday, Sept. 13, at 5 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. This year's Brassiere Bazaar will be Sunday, Oct. 14, at Christopher's in Fairmont.

The Brassiere Bazaar was begun as a creative outlet for people to come together in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to raise funds to help improve the quality of life for local breast cancer patients. People of all ages and abilities are invited to create or decorate a bra or under garment, which will then displayed and sold via silent auction at the annual Brassiere Bazaar. Participants are invited to model the brassieres, and there are also forms upon which the creations can be displayed. All profits benefit Kaleidoscope.

Kaleidoscope was founded by Winter Dawn Morin. Board members include Vicki Angotti, Latoma Davis, Rhonda Sanford, Donna Long, Jamie Miller, Mary Reed and Elizabeth Savage.
