School of Business Students Honored
The Delta Mu Delta Induction Ceremony and School of Business Awards Presentation were
held in April during a joint event at Fairmont State University.
After a welcome from Dr. Richard C. Harvey, Dean of Graduate Studies/Interim Dean
of the School of Business, new members were inducted into Delta Mu Delta, an international
honor society in business administration. The purpose of Delta Mu Delta is to encourage
higher scholarship and to recognize and reward scholastic achievement in business
administration programs.
Spring 2007 student inductees were the following: P. Wayne Ammons, Jamie Nicole Arbogast,
Linda J. Bable, John Gregory Blevins, Joseph Allen Boyd, Zachary Brewer, Rachel Ann
Claypool, Garth Savage Dixon, Kari Sue Eckleberry, Corey E. Gabbert, William Gautreau,
Kristen Jyl Grandstaff, Natasha Marie Harbert, Kelly Renee Hissam, Makiko Ishihara,
Ashley Celeste Jennings, Joseph L. Longwell, Jane Elizabeth Miller, Clarence Edward
Moats, Clarissa Phillips, Anri Sasa, Alice Shrestha, Brian Simmons and Lisa Dawn Wilson.
Chapter advisors are Dr. Rebecca J. Giorcelli and Professor Robert C. Weaver.
Professor Gary K. Bennett, Advisor for the Student Accountant Society, presented the
following awards: Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award to Seegee M. Kisner;
Outstanding Senior in Accounting to Ann K. Chaney; Outstanding Senior in Business
to Eric S. Bee.
Professor Tracie M. Dodson, Advisor for the Information Systems Student Organization,
presented the Outstanding Senior in Information Systems Award to Jeffrey L. Jacobs.
The following scholarships were presented during the event: Shana Obriant, Stanley
and Mary Beafore Scholarship; Philip Nuce, Conley CPA Group Accounting Excellence
Award; Mark Himes, Dream, Succeed & Lead; Kelly R. Hissam, Mary B. and Edgar N. Jaynes
Endowed Scholarship; Randy Justus, Frank and Florence Sansalone Scholarship; Lisa
Wilson and Daniel Desmond, Louis Schoolnic Endowed Scholarship; and Buck Mallow, Swanson
Scholarship Award.
Dr. Jack R. Kirby, Advisor for the Students in Free Enterprise Team, also introduced
team members.
