FSU Participates in Learning Communities Institute

Fairmont State University has been accepted to participate in the Learning Communities National Summer Institute at Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash., this summer.

The FSU team consists of Blair Montgomery, President of Pierpont Community & Technical College of FSU; Dr. Barbara Fallon, Title III Grant Activity Director: Dr. Nancy McClure, Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence; Nancy Parks, Director of Assessment and Assistant Professor for the Pierpont C&TC School of Academic Studies; Kit Conner, Retention Specialist/Learning Coach; and Laurie Johnston, Director of Student Activities.

The Institute is designed to help campuses start or strengthen learning community programs. Colleges and universities selected for the Institute are matched with resource faculty who are leaders in learning community work and other reform movements in higher education.
