Comedian to Perform April 16

Apr 09, 2007

Comedian Jamie Lissow will perform on the Fairmont State University main campus at 9 p.m. Monday, April 16.

Sponsored by Student Government, the event will take place in the Colebank Hall gym. Tickets are free for FSU students and $5 for the general public. To purchase tickets, call the Box Office at (304) 367-4240.

A native of Rochester, N.Y., Lissow graduated from Fredonia State with a degree in math and psychology. He decided to abandon his plan to become a lawyer and entered the world of stand-up comedy. A few years later, he was invited to audition for the prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival where he earned a spot for 2001. Lissow signed Dave Becky to be his personal manager. Becky is with 3ARTS Entertainment, which handles Dave Atell, Mitch Hedberg and Chris Rock.

Lissow has appeared on 'The Late Late Show with Craig Kilbourne,' 'Late Friday,' 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' and is a proud 'Star Search' loser. In 2005, Campus Activities Magazine nominated Lissow for Campus Performer of the Year and he taped for Comedy Central's "Premium Blend." Lissow resides in Los Angeles and tours nationally, headlining at the nation's top comedy clubs.
