Professors Attend Math Conference
Jean Bolyard, Dean of the Pierpont Community & Technical College of Fairmont State
                        University School of Academic Studies, and Linda King, a math instructor for the School
                        of Academic Studies, recently attended the annual conference of the American Mathematical
                        Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC) in Cincinnati, Ohio.
                        
                        	Noted mathematician Dr. Wade Ellis delivered the keynote address as part of the celebration
                        of the release of the AMATYC's curriculum and pedagogy standards, "Beyond Crossroads."
                        Bolyard and King were among more than 100 mathematics educators from the U.S. and
                        Canada who attended the 32nd annual professional AMATYC conference.
                        
                        	Founded in 1974, AMATYC is dedicated to the improvement of mathematics education
                        in community colleges. AMATYC is the only organization exclusively devoted to providing
                        a national forum for the improvement of the instruction of mathematics in the first
                        two years of college. AMATYC has approximately 2,800 individual members and more than
                        100 institutional members in the U.S. and Canada.
