Community Music Program Taking Registration

Dec 07, 2006

Spring semester registration for private and class music instruction with the FSU Community Music Program will be held from Dec. 10, 2006, through Jan. 25, 2007. Registration in person will be Jan. 13, 2007, from 10 a.m. to noon in Room 304 of Wallman Hall. Classes are offered at the FSU main campus and at the Gaston Caperton Center in Clarksburg.

Students may register for private lessons in piano, voice, guitar, strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion. Students 6-8, Beginning Piano students (those who have had no piano experience), may take Piano Group Class instruction. The Piano Group Class is exploratory in nature, and students taking the class do not have to have a piano at home.

Those interested in registering for private lessons on any instrument or the Piano Group
Class may receive registration packets by calling CMP Director Anne Schooley at (304) 366-3758. Mailed registrations are accepted until Jan. 20, 2007 for new students. Former students need to register by Jan. 5, 2007. Registration payments may be by check, cash or charge and may be made in installments. Levels of instruction offered range from beginner to advanced, and for ages 5 through adult. All teachers have degrees in teaching specializing in their area of expertise. During the spring term, students studying in the program will be able to participate in the annual Music-O-Rama sponsored by the CMP and held at Meadowbrook Mall.
