World AIDS Day Ceremony Planned

Nov 28, 2006

Fairmont State Student Government and Caritas House are co-sponsoring a World AIDS Day Candlelight Ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, on the Falcon Center terrace.

Guest speakers for the event will include the Rev. Michael Waide, Campus Minister for the Wesley Foundation, and FSU student Roger Banks. A portion of the AIDS quilt project will be on display on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. Red "Cure for AIDS" bracelets will be on sale Nov. 29 and 30 in the Falcon Center.

World AIDS Day is Dec. 1, but Fairmont State is holding its commemoration a day early to attract a greater number of participants in the ceremony. World AIDS Day is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV and AIDS. For more information on World AIDS Day, visit http://www.worldaidsday.org/default.asp.
