Family Movie Night to Feature 'Cars'
Fairmont State Student Government is sponsoring a free Family Movie Night on Friday,
Nov. 10. The Disney Pixar movie "Cars" will be shown at 6 p.m. in Colebank Hall gymnasium.
Admission is free and open to the public.
"We really look forward to these types of events because they give us an opportunity
to strengthen our ties with the community," said Student Government President Shane
Livingston. "It's especially rewarding when we sponsor events for the families in
our area. We want the members of our community to feel welcome on campus."
According to the official web site, "Cars," rated G, is a high-octane adventure comedy
that shows life is about the journey, not the finish line. Hotshot rookie race car
Lightning McQueen is living life in the fast lane until he hits a detour on his way
to the most important race of his life. Stranded in Radiator Springs, a forgotten
town on the old Route 66, he meets Sally, Mater, Doc Hudson and a variety of quirky
characters who help him discover that there's more to life than trophies and fame.
"We love this movie!" said Laurie Johnston, Director of Student Activities."'Cars'
really is great for all ages. This event is also for our students, faculty and staff
with their own children. This is a great way to have some free fun on a Friday night
with your family. We will also be having a Family Carnival & Health Fair in the spring
on campus."
