SAI Presents Faculty/Student Musicale
Members of Sigma Alpha Iota in Fairmont State's Department of Music will present a
fall Faculty/Student Musicale at 3 p.m. Oct. 19 in Room 229, Wallman Hall. Admission
is free and open to the public.
Selections will include George M. Cohan's "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy," arranged by
William Ryden; "Shimmering Flutes" by John Cacavas; George Waln's Classic Fantasy
for flutists by Dorothy Skidmore, Brooke Daughtery and Angelle Raines; "When We Were
Giants," by Jonathan Green, performed by John Schooley, tuba, and Mary Lynne Bennett,
piano; Aaron Copeland's "Long Time Ago," performed by Leigh Anne Bolyard, soprano,
and Mary Lynne Bennett, piano; the allegro movement of Mozart's Concerto in D Major,
K. 412, with Rebecca Ashcraft, horn, and Mary Lynne Bennett, piano; Ernest Charles'
"My Lady Walks in Loveliness," Jeffrey Poland, tenor, and Mary Lynne Bennett, piano;
PDQ Bach's "Dutch" Suite in G Major, Constance Edwards, bassoon, and Valarie Huffman,
euphonium; Dick Scanlon and Jeanine Tesori's "Gimme Gimme," performed by soprano Sarah
Rowan and Mary Lynne Bennett, piano; the Lebhaft from Hindemith's Sonata for Clarinet
and Piano, performed by Randall Hall, clarinet and Mary Lynne Bennett, piano; and
Ravel's Piece en forme de Habanera, performed by Valarie Huffman, euphonium, and Mary
Lynne Bennett, piano.
