QuickBooks for Small Business Owners Offered
Although most small business owners are worried about revenue, running a business
involves a lot of other tasks. Depending on the type of business, owners may need
to invoice customers, record payments from customers, pay their own bills to outside
vendors, manage inventory, and in their "spare time"“ analyze financial data to see
where they need to focus their next efforts. QuickBooks 2006 is a tool small business
owners can use to automate the tasks they are already performing.
A two-day QuickBooks 2006 workshop is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov.14-15,
from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pierpont Community & Technical College of Fairmont State
University's Center for Workforce Education at Veterans Square in downtown Fairmont.
The training session is open to the public and is being conducted by the Pierpont
C&TC Regional Small Business Development Center. For more information, call Tim James,
Center Manager for the Fairmont Regional SBDC, at (304) 367-4920.
The "QuickBooks Complete"" training seminar is a hands-on, 12-hour training session
that will help businesses manage accounts, track sales and expenses, create financial
reports and other tools. As seating is limited to 20 people, those interested in attending
the seminar should pre-register by calling (304) 367-4920. Cost for the workshop is
$299.
The SBDC is partially funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, although
such funding does not constitute an expressed or implied endorsement of any of the
co-sponsors or participants opinions, products or services. All SBDC workshops are
co-sponsored by the West Virginia Development Office. Special arrangements for the
handicapped can be made by contacting the center at least one week in advance.
The events sponsored by the SBDC are regularly updated on the Fairmont State web
site at: http://www.fairmontstate.edu/sbdc/. Other statewide SBDC events are also listed at: http://www.sbdcwv.org/.
