NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick Winners Announced

Local youth took part in the NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick Competition hosted by the Fairmont State Department of Intramurals & Recreation on Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Falcon softball/practice field.

The following youngsters earned first place honors in their respective age groups: (Ages 8-9) Jeffrey May Jr. from Grafton, W.Va., with a total score of 144.4; (Ages 10-11) Samuel Tucker from Fairmont with a total score of 202.3; and (Ages 12-13) Nicholas Bellay from Fairmont with a total score of 144.6.

These three winners now will move on to a Sectional Competition to be held Saturday, Oct. 14 at Charleston's Laidley Field. They could qualify for the Team Championship Competition to be held at Hines Field in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New Orleans Saints game.

The NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick football competition allows youngsters to showcase their talents in punting, passing and kicking with scores based on distance and accuracy. A number of former and current NFL players have competed in Punt, Pass & Kick, including record-setting quarterbacks Dan Marino and Drew Bledsoe. The NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick Competition is produced by NFL Properties LLC and sponsored by Pepsi.
