FSU Sponsoring Marlin Art Auction Oct. 21

Fairmont State and Fairmont General Hospital are sponsoring the Gala Art Auction to benefit Main Street Fairmont on Saturday, Oct. 21.

The preview begins at 6:30 p.m., and the auction begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Fairmont Field Club. Tickets are $15 per person. Hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will be provided. For tickets or more information, call Vera Sansalone at 366-0468 or Barbara Wise at 366-6269.

"Even if you think you might not bid on art, your attendance at the event benefits Main Street Fairmont," Sansalone said.

The event will be a fun, interactive evening with finger foods and music. All art to be auctioned is framed, and prices will range from $50 up. Some original works and many lithographs and gliclees will be available. There will also be some estate jewelry, painted furniture and sports memorabilia. Marlin Art will present a Family Heirloom Program that can turn any photograph into a hand-finished canvas work. Major credit cards will be accepted.

Some of the artists with works to be included in the auction are Neiman, Zule, Delacroix, Tarkay, Rockwell, Lui, Picasso and a new Italian artist, Borelli. Specific artwork may be requested by calling the Main Street Fairmont office at 366-0468. For more information, visit Marlinart.com.
