Sigma Sigma Sigma Planning Reunion

Jun 22, 2006

Alpha Kappa Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, chartered at Fairmont State in 1932, will celebrate its first ever reunion on July 15 and 16 on the Fairmont State University main campus. More than 150 women from across the nation and as far away as Taiwan will travel to Fairmont for the event.

Graduates from the 1940s to current collegiate members will begin the activities with a brunch at the new, state-of-the-art Falcon Center. Fairmont Mayor Nick Fantasia will speak briefly and issue a proclamation naming July 15 as Sigma Sigma Sigma Day.

Afternoon activities include trolley rides around the campus and through Fairmont, campus walking tours and small group gatherings.

The Fairmont Field Club will be the setting for the evening dinner and program. An historical CD, an "In Our Bonds" DVD and S-I-G-M-A speeches by past officers representing five decades will highlight the program.

An informal breakfast on July 16 at the Fairfield Inn will conclude the celebration.
