Piano Camp Planned for June

Apr 25, 2006

The 13th annual Summer Piano Camp at Fairmont State will be held
June 19-23 in Wallman Hall at Fairmont State.

Nancy Bird, Director, announces that this year's camp will be co- taught by Natale Camele Buckley and John Morrison, Artist Teachers of Piano for the Community Music Program at Fairmont State.

Bird, founder of the camp and teacher of the Ensemble Experiences and other classes with the camp, emphasizes that Piano Camp - Group I - Pianists (9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. daily) provides a chance for piano students to play ensemble music, share experiences, enrich their current level of performance and to connect with peers who share the same interest in music, whatever their proficiency.

Piano Camp Group II - Explorers (9:30 - 11:30 a.m. daily) is designed to give beginning piano students a basic acquaintance with the keyboard and an opportunity to explore their interests and generally to enjoy the instrument.

Piano Camp 2006 age groups are Group I, ages 8 through high school who have had at least one year of experience: beginner to advanced; and Group II, Explorers, ages 6 through 8, who have had no previous piano experience.

Piano camp registrations and inquiries are being accepted at (304) 366-3758 or by e-mail
to anschooley@mteer.com. Piano camp registration will be accepted until June 16.
