Tree Lighting Ceremony Set for Dec. 5
Fairmont State students, faculty and staff and the general public are invited to kick
off the holiday season by attending a Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec.
5, at the Falcon Center.
"We're hoping to restore this Fairmont State holiday tradition and welcome all students,
faculty and staff as well as members of the community to attend," said Fairmont State
Student Government President Shane Livingston.
The ceremony, sponsored by Student Government, will feature a reading of "The Christmas
Story" by the Rev. Michael Waide of the Wesley Foundation, caroling led by the FS
Collegiate Singers and cookies and hot cocoa served by Student Government members.
Campus administrators and representatives of campus organizations will place ornaments
on the tree.
