Debate Team Members Place in Tourney

The Fairmont State Intercollegiate Debate team recently competed in the Collegiate Forensic Association Fall Tournament held at Shepherd University.

Team Captain Chris Sharps, a senior from Peytona, W.Va., compiled a perfect 7-0 win/loss record to win the Lincoln Douglas debate portion of the tournament. Heather Musgrove, a sophomore from Fairmont majoring in political science, placed third in tournament. Janelle Piercy, a mechanical engineering major from Weston, W.Va., placed fourth.

Also competing in the tournament were Shawn Wiley, a freshman liberal studies major from Sarver, Pa., and Christina Cottrill, a senior mechanical engineering major from Point Marion, Pa. Other members of the team are Terry Meeks, a junior sociology major from Barrackville, and Stephen Sundahl, a freshman political science major from Fairmont. The team is coached by Kim Korcsmaros.
