D&G Machine/FS Golf Tournament a Success
The 15th Annual D&G Machine/Fairmont State Golf Tournament took place Friday, Sept.
23, at Green Hills Country Club, featuring a full field of participants and the support
of more than 60 local businesses.
The event yielded net proceeds in excess of $11,000, all of which are designated
for Fairmont State athletic scholarships through the Lettermen's Athletic Scholarship
Fund.
This long standing event enjoys title sponsorship from Donny White of D&G Machine,
Inc., Mannington. The event's special donor is AXA Financial Advisors, and the co-sponsor
is Pepsi Cola of Fairmont. Aladdin Food Management Services, Inc.; Health Works Rehab.
& Fitness; U.S. Machine, Inc.; and Wishing Well Manor/Wishing Well Health Center serve
as associate sponsors. In addition, 29 local businesses served as tee sponsors, with
an additional six local resorts and country clubs providing gifts and donations.
"We truly enjoyed a beautiful day of competing, connecting and having fun with our
coaches, sponsors and alumni, and we are grateful for the support of so many on behalf
of our 300 athletes," said Athletic Director Scott Gines.
