CMP Expands to Caperton Center
Fairmont State's Music for Kids After School and Adult Music Program for private and
class music is pleased to announce an expansion to the Gaston Caperton Center in Clarksburg
beginning this fall.
The Community Music Program at FS has a year-round program that gives children and
adults private music lessons in voice, piano, strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion
and guitar.
Summer courses include Piano Camp, Brass Camp, Beginning Keyboard Classes, "Born
to Entertain Voice Class" and "All the World's a Musical Stage Voice and Performance
Class." Beginning in September, Clarksburg area students can register to take private
piano, voice and violin at the Caperton Center.
All students studying in Clarksburg will be a part of "Music for Kids After School"
and the Adult Music Program, which is an extension of the main campus Community Music
Program. Lessons will be held during weekdays Mondays - Thursdays and Saturdays. The
FS program has a faculty of professional teachers, all of whom possess a master's
degree or the equivalent. All instructors are professionals in their specialties.
Students study from beginning to advanced levels and may pursue such interests as
auditions, college preparation, stage auditions, All-State orchestra, band and chorus
preparations. All styles of music are taught -- from classical to pop to opera and
many others.
There are no waiting lists for any area of study. Registration is being accepted
for beginners through advanced students until Sept. 15. For more information, call
Anne Schooley, Director, at (304) 366-3758.
