Cunningham Awarded PMCC Instructor Certification
Amy Cunningham, Instructor and Clinical Coordinator for the Health Information Technology
Program of Fairmont State Community & Technical College, recently became a Certified
PMCC Instructor with the American Academy of Professional Coders.
To become a certified Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (PMCC) instructor, individuals
must be a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders, be a Certified Professional

The certification process entailed a rigorous three-day training session. At the end
of the session, each participant was required to complete a written examination and
an impromptu oral presentation. Cunningham exceeded the minimum requirements for the
passing rate by receiving a composite score of 95 out of 100.
In addition to this certification, Cunningham is also a Certified Professional Coder,
a Registered Health Information Administrator and a Certified Tumor Registrar.
