Barry Snyder Receives State Arts Grant
At a special recognition ceremony held recently at the Cultural Center in Charleston,
Barry Snyder, Fairmont State University Professor of Art, was awarded a $3,500 West
Virginia Fellowship Grant as part of the Governor's Arts Award program.
This was a juried contest, judged by John Monti, professor and sculptor at Pratt
Institute in New York City.
The master of ceremonies for the event was Morgan Spurlock, award-winning director
of the documentary, "Super Size Me." The Governor's Art Award program was re-established
by Gov. Joe Manchin, who was a special guest at the black-tie event.
