Alumni Association Sponsors Family Day

Jan 07, 2005

Area families have an opportunity to cheer on the Fighting Falcons and enjoy an afternoon of fun-filled activities on Saturday, Jan. 15.

The Fairmont State Alumni Association is sponsoring Family Day at the FS men's and women's basketball games beginning at 2 p.m. as the Falcons take on Shepherd University.

"The Fairmont State Alumni Association is excited about opening up our campus to the community and offering families a chance to see our excellent student-athletes perform," said Aaron Ryan, Director of Development and Alumni Relations. "We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy this fun day. This is chance for the community to witness firsthand some of the great things that we are doing at Fairmont State."

All children (those 12 and younger) will be admitted for free with a paid adult admission. Those attending should enter the Feaster Center on the Pence Hall side of the building. Direction signs will be posted.

Well-known animated character Sponge Bob Square Pants will be attending the games to entertain children and their families, plus several giveaways are planned. There will be a post-game reception immediately following the men's game at the Erickson Alumni Center. All alumni, friends and families are invited to attend. Coach Tim Murphy and Coach Steve McDonald and their players will attend.
