January 2025 Video Message

To our new students, faculty and staff—welcome to Fairmont State University. I know you made the right choice to be here and can’t wait to see how your journey unfolds. To those returning Falcons and those who never left (thank you staff!) welcome back. Happy 2025!  

Before I continue, please join me in thanking our Facilities team for their dedication to keeping campus safe and accessible no matter what mother nature delivers.  The winter weather team members include: Brian Novak – Roads and Grounds Coordinator; Kenny Whetsell; Evan Gaines; Mike Marcavage; Justin Ralphsnyder; Jarod Pendleton. Additional assistance is provided by: Homer Farley; Jeff Hamrick; Chad Seese; Chris Conley; Cody Parrish; Bobby Sole; Mike Koton; Jason Dalton; Roger Gray; Sam Tossone; and Brad Eagle. Despite the weather, January has been busy, and February is guaranteed to move twice as fast. This month I preview upcoming events including Fairmont State Day at the Capitol on Feb. 13 and Fairmont State Day of Giving on Feb. 27. I also speak with Director of Student Involvement and Leadership Justin Rader about the importance of students getting involved and what initiatives are on the horizon.  

It's going to be a Great semester, Falcons!
