Congratulations!

President DavisDear Graduate,

You made it!

I am thrilled to be among the first to offer you congratulations on your graduation from Fairmont State University. You are the first graduates that I get to offer congratulations to and I want to say that I am proud of you.

Your journey has not always been easy and I am sure for many of you there were times when you thought you would not make it, but you did and this diploma is a testament to your dedication, hard work and passion. When you look at it, recall the sacrifices you made, the obstacles you overcame, and, most importantly, think fondly of the friends and mentors you met along the way.

This diploma is also a reminder that you are now and forever part of a supportive Fairmont State University community—not just here on campus, but also the vast network of Falcons who have taken flight all over the globe. I urge you to participate actively in that community as they will provide support and fellowship throughout your life.

As you make your way in the world after graduation, I hope you achieve success beyond anything you can imagine. Not only has your hard work earned you those victories, but also, the further you soar, the higher you carry the banner of Fairmont State University, and the wider our impact is felt.

Congratulations! And come back often because we will miss you.
