Fairmont State welcomes new students on National College Decision Day

Apr 30, 2021

As high school seniors across the country are preparing to graduate, many are sifting through their acceptance letters and weighing the options of where they might continue their educational pursuits. And with small class sizes and a variety of degree programs as well as expert faculty and numerous opportunities for hands-on learning, Fairmont State University has established itself as a destination of choice for many college-bound students.

In honor of National College Decision Day this Saturday, May 1, Fairmont State is welcoming those students who have committed to the University, both members of the Class of 2025 as well as transfer students, to the Falcon Family.

“Over the last year so many opportunities to celebrate and recognize student achievement have been missed,” said Chris Sharps, Senior Director of Recruitment. “On National College Decision Day, we want to welcome the newest members of our Falcon Family and let them know that we share in their excitement and are so proud of them. They’re about to embark on a journey that will challenge them and prepare them for a lifetime of success. Congratulations, Falcons – we can’t wait to welcome you home to Fairmont State University this fall.”

Throughout the summer, Fairmont State will be featuring the newest members of its campus community across social media platforms. For a chance to be featured and share your excitement about becoming part of the Falcon Family, fill out the form at www.fairmontstate.edu/forms/falcon-proud.

Mirta M. Martin, Fairmont State University President, said she is looking forward to expanding the Falcon Family and encourages those students who have not yet chosen a University to consider the personalized educational experience that Fairmont State offers.

“Choosing a college is a huge decision for students and their families,” Mirta M. Martin, president of Fairmont State University, said. “And College Decision Day is a fun way for people to share their good news with the whole world. I can’t wait to see all those happy faces on social media, and I welcome all our new students into the Falcon Family. And to those still deciding, I invite them to discover why more and more students are choosing to transform their lives with a Fairmont State education.”

Campus visits are currently being offered both virtually and in person. To schedule your tour, go to www.fairmontstate.edu/visit. For more information about Fairmont State’s admission process, visit www.fairmontstate.edu/admit. To apply to the University, go to www.fairmontstate.edu/apply.
