Following committee updates, Board members Dixie Yann and John Schirripa were recognized for their service to the University’s Board of Governors as the end of their term appointments approaches on June 30.

“On behalf of the University, I wish to express my gratitude to Dixie Yann and John Schirripa for their years of service,” said Mirta M. Martin, Fairmont State University President. “They helped Fairmont State navigate turbulent skies, yet with their help, we emerged stronger with each challenge we overcame, and continue to soar to a bright future.”

Former Chairwoman, Yann, addressed the Board, expressing her thanks to Governors Tomblin and Justice for her appointment and reappointment, former President Maria Rose and President Mirta M. Martin for their efforts, along with her appreciation and gratitude to fellow Board Members she’s served with throughout the years. The Board of Governors also recognized the newest appointment to the Board and alumnus of the University, Jason Henderson, who was present for the meeting. Henderson serves as Energy Transportation’s Chief Financial Officer, and will begin his term appointment on July 1.

Jason adds to the expertise and perspective of the Board of Governors, and I’m confident he will serve our Institution well.”

In addition to special recognitions throughout the meeting, the Board approved the current officers to continue in their leadership roles through June 30, 2022, including, Chairman, David Goldberg, Vice-Chairman, Rusty Hutson and Secretary, Deborah Prezioso.
