Vice President for Institutional Advancement Named
Fairmont State University has named Devanna Corley as the permanent appointment for Vice President for Institutional Advancement. She had served in the position on an interim basis since August 2010.
Corley served as Director of Alumni Relations and Sponsorship Activities from 2007 to 2010. In that role, she managed multiple tasks including event planning and alumni board activities; developed multiple alumni organizations outside of North Central West Virginia; and effectively launched a sponsorship program for Homecoming and other alumni hosted events.
"Devanna has proven to be an incisive, perceptive leader who is capable of supervising staff and deploying institutional resources to meet FSU's goals. I have been impressed by her commitment to students and to this institution's well-being," said Dr. Tom Krepel, FSU President.
A 1996 graduate of Fairmont State, Corley earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Management and has completed the requirements for a Masters in Business Administration at FSU, a degree which will be conferred in December 2010.
"I am looking forward to gaining momentum on the initiatives that I have identified during the interim phase. The fundraising goals of the office of Institutional Advancement will be guided by the priorities set forth in the strategic plan. I am also excited to incorporate marketing, branding and communications into the IA operation. Higher education is a competitive environment and as an alumna, I have a natural affinity to spread the word about FSU. I look forward to cultivating relationships that will leave a lasting mark on this great institution and move Fairmont forward." Corley said.
Corley and her husband Tony reside in Fairmont with their children Brandon and Kayla.
